Well that lit the Blue touch paper and Albert Cummings literally set the place on fire with his incendiary adrenaline fuelled set of funk infused Blues. Cummings just oozed sass and confidence taking to and immediately owning the stage. The playing style reminiscent of SRV, the Texan boogie right to the fore, while the rasping deep vocal evoked comparisons with JJ Gray. Shiny Plumb coloured Stratocaster thrown over the shoulder of a rhinestone encrusted shirt Cummings massacred the instrument from the off opening up with a violent assault on the frets and strings constructing blood curdling lead breaks that sat astride thundering rhythm section grooves from the guys in the backline.
