Live at Shepherds Bush Empire, London - 20th December 2014
Western Sand, the Hampshire rockers currently riding high on the back of their current, and very good, EP ‘Cut You Down To Size’. This band deal in big riffing metallic rock with a healthy smattering of Southern Rock thrown into the mix, and as I discovered when I saw them at last month’s Hard Rock Hell, they pack a heavier punch on the live stage, especially on all-out ballsy rockers like ‘Dark Horse’. ‘Black Water Resolution’ and ‘Doin’ Me Wrong’ show that despite hailing from the Deep South of England, Western Sand have a good grasp of what makes a good slice of Southern Rock, with the former being a set highlight. They’re all extremely good players, with drummer Nathan Kay shining particularly brightly, and they work damned hard to win the crowd over tonight. Still to release a debut full length album, Western Sand are certainly a band to look out for in 2015.

You can download a Digital Image suitable for Facebook/Private use for a very small fee (The site is not free to run, so they do want some pennies) …Or if you need a bigger file or even an actual print, there are various options for that too
Boring bit… ©All images copyright me. All rights reserved. Use without permission will result in me being a bit miffed. If you do use a photo it would be really nice to get a Rockrpix credit somewhere if you can… you're probably musicians, you understand all this stuff.
